FESTA DEL TARTUFO


Join us for our annual Festa del Tartufo, as we celebrate this year's truffle season with tables featuring two of the most revered producers of Barolo in the world: Guiseppe Rinaldi and Giacomo Conterno. Both producers are guided by an overarching respect for tradition, where integrity of the grape, soil and region are highlighted in the glass and sought after by wine collectors around the world.

 

This year, we are offering two distinct experiences of wine to choose from:

 

GIUSEPPE RINALDI

An incredibly rare selection of old vintages directly from one remarkable cellar featuring Barolos from 1961, 1964, 1967, 1968, and 1971 will be served.  These wines are very hard to find at this mature age and stellar condition. In great vintages Giuseppe Rinaldi makes under 1,000 cases of wine. To find five wines from these vintages in quantity and in such great condition is as close to a wine miracle as we have ever experienced. 

 

GIACOMO CONTERNO 

An equally special selection of Giacomo Conterno’s Cascina Francia Barolo will be served exclusively from large format bottles.  Included in this flight are Cascina Francia 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2005.  In 2002 Roberto Conterno, winemaker of Giacomo Contero, decided that he would only make the acclaimed Riserva Barolo: Monfortino.  To complete the vertical from 2001 – 2005, we will also show the 2002 Monfortino, arguably Italy’s most sought after wine. 

 

Each of the menu’s five courses have been thoughtfully created by Del Posto’s James Beard Award-winning chef Mark Ladner to highlight the beauty of these precious wines.  And of course, each of the dishes will be finished with freshly shaved white truffles.

 

This will be a truly unique opportunity to taste the greatest of Italian wines alongside one of the most coveted Italian delicacies. We look forward to seeing you on December 2nd for this unforgettable celebration.
